Paul. I am not sure on that one, But Most disels have a diode in the Alternator warning light wire, which lets the Feed go through the bulb, and earth out through the Alternator to make the light come on,( IGN on and engine stopped ) But When the engine starts The diode stops the feed going back up the wire as it can then go through the bulb and back into the ignition system, which can have enough power to keep the stop solenoid open. Usually If you put your foot on the brake, it kills the engine, So you could try snipping the wire and fitting a diode although in your case it might stop the temp light from going out. ?? Otherwise I would remove the instrument panel and check for damage on the circuit board caused by the Faulty alternator. Also make sure that no-one has fitted a bulb that has a higher wattage than the original as that would cause the same problem. ( Usually 2 to 3 Watts standard )

P.S. The two wires are D+ which is warning light and the other one is W terminal which is for a rev counter, which it may not have fitted. ( I am assuming that it is fitted with the Mitsubishi Transit alternator )
