Thanks for that Tony, I spoke to Vauxhall main dealer today and he said similar thing. I am just checking out another problem on the van, the output from the alternator is fluctuating and can been seen on the scope trace bouncing around, i've checked all connections and earths, renewed the faulty battery, so i think i have a bad alternator. I think i'll sort this first in case it's causing my other problem as well, thanks for help i'll post update soon. Brian.
