HI ALL! THE ABOVE VEHICLE WILL NOT START. THE GARAGE IM WORKING FOR HAD JUST FITTED A NEW ALTERNATOR ON THIS VAN BUT HAD ACCIDENTALLY AND BRIEFLY FLASHED THE BATTERY POSITIVE LEAD AGAINST THE ALTERNATOR HOUSING. IT RAN FOR AROUND 10 SECS AFTER THIS AND NOT ANY MORE. IT WILL RUN HOWEVER BY CAREFULLY SPRAYING BRAKE CLEANER DIRECTLY INTO MANIFOLD. NO FAULT CODES IN ENGINE MGT OR IMMOBILISER. ALL MONITOR VALUES IGN ON AND CRANKING LOOK OK. I HAVE MEASURED THE IMMOBILISER SIGNALS TO PUMP AND THEY LOOK TYPICAL FOR THIS MODEL. THE PUMP IS SENDING ITS USUAL ANALOGUE SPEED SIGNAL WHILST CRANKING. THE PUMP IS BEING BLOCKED SOMEHOW BUT HOW? COULD IT BE BECAUSE IMMOBILISER SIGNAL IS NOW CORRUPTED OR DO I NEED A NEW PUMP? THE DIESEL ECU SEEMS FINE. HAS ANYONE HAD EXPERIENCE OF THIS AND HOW MUCH WILL THE LIKELY COSTS BE? I UNDERSTAND THAT THESE VAUXHALL ENGINE MGT ECUS ARE JELLY FILLED,CANNOT BE REPAIRED AND CANNOT EVEN BE REPROGRAMMED. IS THIS TRUE? REGARDS JOHN SARTAIN
