Hello Trevor, Sounds like you may have a problem with an intermittent short, perhaps in wiring i.e. drive to fuel injector, or in the ECU. I can't think of any other reason for the ECU to overheat when the fault is present. If you can get the fault to manifest try monitoring some key ECU inputs and outputs. Perhaps regulated 5V, drive to FIs etc.. HTH regards, Nick Bell
