Vauxhall Vectra 1997 Diesel X20DTL Loss of power Archived Message

    Hello All,
Diesels are not my forte, but agreed with customer to read any fault codes and provide printout of live data. No codes logged (apart from A/C problem... hasn't got A/C). They told me they had tried a new MAF (same part no. etc.) to no avail. Have looked in archives and will suggest blocked CAT to them! However there seemed to be a few disccrepancies in live data which I hope someone can explain to me.
MAF sensor had strange units and didn't seem to change much i.e. 379mg/strk @ idle, and a similar figure @ 3300 rpm. The o/p voltage which was 1.7V @ idle did seem to change though couldn't get up to 4+ volts.
Also Desired injection start was 0 deg CA, and actual 3.9 deg CA @ idle and 8.8 deg CA @ 3300 rpm.
The EGR pulse ratio was 65% @ idle, which you wouldn't see on a petrol engine.
And last of all, what is TIP switch (I,R and O).

As always, any information gratefully received!!
    Regards,
    Nick Bell
