Jaguar S type 3.0 2003- Knock sensor 2 location, code P0333 #

Year of Manufacture *: 2003
Engine Size and Code *: 3.0 petrol
( Optional) Fault Codes: p0333

Can anyone tell me the location of knock sensor 2? (p0333)

I can see sensor one on the side of the block (sensor 1) but sensor 2 should be at the top somewhere near the front, is it under the the inlet and injector rails in the valley?

Under the inlet in the valley is correct.

This knock sensor is located exactly where you describe.You know what you have to remove to get at it.With the one I did,I found that simply cleaning up the mounting face and sensor and careful refitting seemed to produce results i.e. no MIL on and no knock sensor code. The sensor can be tested off the car by lightly tapping and observing output signal.

And to save yourself having to do it all again, put a new rubber elbow on the crankcase breather. It will be soft, perished and will cause an air leak. Dont try to remove breather box as it wont come out with heads on!
