Ford Fiesta 1.4 2003 - EAC fail #

Year of Manufacture *: 2003
Engine Size and Code *: 1.4

A ford fiesta i previously owned kept on having a message on the clocks EAC FAIL and the car would go into limp mode. I paid an electrician to have a look at it for me. He put on a dianostic platform which said the throttle position sensor was at fault, but he said he wouldn't say this was the problem. He updated the ecu's software and said this should solve the problem. I sold the car and the buyer has got back to me and said the EAC FAIL sign didn't stay away for long and she has spent hundreds on the car. I've got to fix this problem once and for all. HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!

Can you please tell me what TB's is/are.
and also what blue oval club supplement you are reffering to. Thanks.

Hi Martin,
TB's are Throttle bodies, TSB's are technical bulletins and you need to google "the blue oval club" HTH

I have run some tests on the fiesta.
I graphed the vehicle when the performance was poor. the results where, Accelerator pedal position in % whilst Accelerater pedal fully depressed would not go above 13% and the throttle position in voltage was giving readings in accordance to this. The accelerator pedal is new and genuine. what do we think is wrong and what should i do to get a fix.
When the vehicle is running good the APP will show 62%.

In your original post "she spent hundred" on what? Info we need to help.
Does this problem happen engine running or just some-time,s after start up ?
Can you post part number,s ecu and throttle body etc ECU cal number as its been updated.
No Silver bullet here i,m affraid.

Hi Martin, what information did you get form the TSB's and has the relevant work been carried out?

Why was the APP replaced?

I've had no info from the tb's as I had to regiter. I'm waiting for this.

The app was replaced because the engine trouble code sugested the app sensor was the fault.

I run some tests on the car. To be more specific I checked the wiring from the app to the ecu by back probing the plugs and would you Adam and Eve it the problem has gone away. Faulty connection.
