Nissan Almera 1.5 2000 - Will not rev, fault code P0355 crank sensor #

Year of Manufacture *: 2000
Engine Size and Code *: 1.5 l QG15
( Optional ) Scanner Used: solis pro/ vantage
( Optional) Fault Codes: PO335. crank sensor

Car will not rev unless gently persuaded. I have replaced crank sensor checked wires and did signature test on crank and cam sensors. All tests came back good car is still the same. PO335 repeatedly comes up.

Hello Phil , i have known these models to suffer with timing chain stretch, they sometimes flag cam sensor or crank sensor sometimes just a multiple missfire code.
I havent come across where they wont rev, normal symptoms missfire when driving .....feels like pencil coils going down, crank and cam sensors scope ok they are just out of phase , or it could be something else

tryed sync test with vantage looked good too me but new to scoping could be wrong cheers lee.

hi philip
you need to remove cam cover & check chain tensioner for protrusion anymore than 10mm is recommend to replace chain-last one i did was nearly 20mm these are very common around 50000 miles onwards-also cam sensor is same as crank sensor so you can swap them around to check sensors.

thanks colin good tip but costomer took car away when found out it would cost money.
