Mercedes Benz mid 70's D-Jetronic - ECU check / repair #

Year of Manufacture *: mid 70's/NA
Engine Size and Code *: V8/NA

Would anybody know of a company that might be able to check/repair one of these old D-jetronic ECU's.

(I am getting intermittant triggering on one of the injector channels resulting in a miss on two cylinders. )

The likes of ACtronics, while IME quite good, dont seem to understand what I am talking about! I imagine that this ECU is older than most of their repair technicians!

Not sure if anyone in the uk can test/repair these,but I noticed on the recent Bosch kts/esi update that there is a test & reman programme in germany.Also intermittant injector trigger can be caused by the efi switching contacts that are situated under dizzy baseplate.hth

Thanks for that, I had remembererd that the ECU was "Ignition triggererd" (I used to have a jag V12 which used the same system) but forgotton that it was via a separate set of contacts. But, in this case it is always the same output that drops out. Not sure how a "Reed switch" (as I recall them being described) problem might consistantly fail only one output. But it is something else for me to connect the pico to when I get back to it.

Seems odd that it is 2 cyls down as these trigger the injectors in 2 banks of 4.Possible injector trouble?

Paul,
have you tried the wise old man at ATP? Mike Walker has helped me out on many older systems, often off the shelf. He responds to overnight e-mails at 8a.m.!

IIRC Bosch agents had to hire the test equipment from Bosch HQ. It was hundreds of pounds per day when I last enquired and that was 15-20 years ago...

If the triggers are working ok then I'd be looking at secondhand ecu. Not great I know but the 'proper' route will soon get out of hand financially.
