Mitsubishi Lancer 1.6 4G92 2008 - High Idle, hunting when warm #

Year of Manufacture *: 2008
Engine Size and Code *: 1.6 4g92

we have gained this veicle from another garage, it has no fault codes listed in obd, and WHEN I can gain access to MPI 1.1, it sometimes throws me out and refuses to re-connect.

The fuel trims are reading LT -4.7% and short term 25%????

Its had a lambda sensor as its nice and shiney, and also been told the throttle body was replaced/reman.

I have no test data for this vehicle anywhere, and am unsure if the rac/other garage cleared any codes?

When accessing MPI 1.1 The coolent temp and IAT Sensor are reading backwards, starting at IAT -130 ish coming down to 51? and coolent temp comes down to 25.

I have scoped the lambda and its switching not saying its rich or lean perminatly.

Just looking for a point in the right direction. Main dealers want to just throw parts on it, which i'm not prepared to do.

My first thoughts would be an air leak, too much unmetered air, ecu not able to stabilize idle, is it MAP or MAF model?

Check for leaks first, nip closed all the breather and emission pipes while observing lambda voltage, don't forget crankcase breather.

Also, try using eobd instead of vehicle specific, should be realiable on that year

I have smoke tested for leaks, and clamped off all pipes as you said, forgot to put that in my first post,

Its MAP on this one, after speaking to the customer it happened over a time.

Ok, what is vac reading in live data?
And what is the throttle position at idle, is it seeing closed throttle?
Lastly coolant sensor reading?

Well that would be a scanner fault, so what scanner and have you tried a better/different one.

I have no Vac reading in the live data.

I have borrowed a launch for today so i will be trying again as the kts is not brillant on this.

Will update later.
