Been presented with a bit of an odd problem on an A2 1.4, car came in with engine light on and code 17566 (p1158) manifold pressure not plausible signal intermittent, found map sensor to have been broken at connection and a smoke test revealed a breather pipe split parts replaced smoked again seemed like a good fix and customer sent on his way only to return next day with light on again.

Codes rechecked and now 16407 (P0023) Camshaft position actuator circuit ( bank 2 ) malfunction .Strange thing is the car doesn't have variable cam timing neither does it have a bank 2 has any one seen this before im thinking possible software issue

I have seen a similar code on these engines due to cam timing slightly out so i have already checked cam timing with correct timing pins and found to be ok i put the cambelt kit on this 2 years ago but thought it wise to check anyway has any one got any thoughts on this
