Kia Picanto 1.1 2005 - non start - Fixed #

Hi Gents,
I have a non-starting Kia here with no reference voltage to the sensors and no comms, checked the usual fuses, relays etc, I want to do a pin out but AD doesn't have the wiring diagram for the pre 2007 vehicles, is there anyone who can help?

If you strip the wiring back at the n/s wheel arch, you'll probably find a broken brown wire (if I remember correctly).

Thanks Tony,

This car has been in another garage and already had the loom stripped back on the n/s engine bay from the coils, temp sensor etc. the 12v feed to the actuators is present but no 5v reference to the sensors, any idea what wire usually breaks that could cause these symptom's? The wiring diagrams don't seem to be the same as this car, pin 4 on the "engine control diagram" is not wired at all, but I found at least 4 12v feeds at the ECU and a couple of ground connections I suspect the ECU and may send it off for testing.

Unfortunately, the Kia wiring diagrams are often, just plain wrong!!

Even the later ones don't show pin 4 populated, however, don't assume the pin numbers on the physical connector are the same as the pin numbers on the diagram. Often Pin 1 will be marked on the top right of a connector but the diagram shows it as top left.
Note:The diagram is supposed to show the connector from the wire side.

I've uploaded the 2008 wiring as it is different, just in case it's the correct one for your car

Thanks again Tony.

Rechecked the wiring diagrams this time I saw the note about B+ to ecu pin 12! And sure enough only 2volts present, power probed that terminal and car started.
