VW Golf 2.0 GTi FSi 2010 - Misfire with heavy white smoke - Fixed #
Posted by Kris Gordon on May 12, 2015, 10:37 pm Have a real time with this one. Its a mk6 golf gti with the fsi engine. It came in and was misfiring with heavy white smoke. Fault code for misfire and low fuel rail pressure, I put a gauge on the low pressure side and while i was building pressure at ignition on, it would decay and was not sitting at the 6 bar i got from autodata. I got a bit ahead of myself and knew they had injector problems. spark plugs 2 and 4 were soaked in petrol, so i changed the injectors on these cylinders. Problem remains and Im at the point were i have lost my train of thought and plan, and i am jumping about. The pressure fault has gone and im just getting misfire codes. Any advice or guidance would be appreciated. As i have said previously, im still fine tuning my diagnostic skills.
