hi everyone ive had a couple of peugeots towed in with a no start and the ecu have gone into lock mode. no comms with bsi. ive thought the ecu has been shut down by bad keys,such as a no coded key used and that has proved correct except the current one apparently had been driving and the lady stopped and went to restart car and no go. the last couple i towed to the dealer to have my thoughts confirmed and they said they needed a new ecu and bsm.major money,the cost of the cars here. i can get second hand but has anyone got any ideas as to why it might happen to a going car. also ive seen bbm mentioned as a possible repair for ecu,is this a good option,has anyone had this done. thanks,sorry for long rant.

I've seen similar 3 times over the years. All turned out to be location based. In these cases it was location based RF signals. 2 turned out to be phone towers and the other 1 was close proximity to a nuclear power station. If I remember there was a post on here many years ago with a ford cosworth which kept dying near heathrow airport due to radar interferance. Don't know if there is any connection with your fault.

ok i hadn't thought about that,interesting.my problem remains that how do I fix the fault.in the past its been a ecu,bsm and matched key if second hand or a new ecu and bsm if new.

the last time i sent a car to the dealer they just said ecu is locked and you need a new one and a bsm module.they didnt offer a reflash.are they lazy,or just trying to upsell.
