VW Passat MK5 CC BZB TSI 2008 - Code P2015 Intake manifold flap position sensor #

Year of Manufacture *: 2008 Engine Size and Code *: 1798cc ( Optional) Fault Codes: P2015
Just a bit of advise on this one as it may need a software update
Code P2015 Intake manifold flap position sensor (bank 1) implausible signal
BZB TSI 99,000 miles
Came in back in January for oil change and had the same code, cleared and just come back on last week
Doing a bit of research but seems to be a bit of confusion (on my part probably), it's suggested replacing the manifold as the sensor is part it, also VW may be replacing the manifolds under warranty for around 2008 models?
Also this vehicle has had a Revo software tweek and a K&N air filter fitted which looks pretty black
I have told the customer that if a new manifold is fitted it may require the latest software version, but he is reluctant to get his Revo overwritten
The customer is looking for the cheapest option (which there probably isn't one)
Is a manifold change usually the repair for this? or are there to many unknowns with tweeked software installed
Peter

The cheapest option is leave it alone, unfixed. What usually happens with these,is the plastic bushing at the end of the flap pivot rod falls apart which causes the rod to rotate off centre,so the flap position sensor does not move correctly.New manifold or nothing,I'm afraid.

Hi Peter. Might be an idea to get injector seals and guides. Never had one yet that has left the injectors in head. Might get one or two left but never four. I also give the valves a good clean when the manifold is off. Of course extra cost comes into it. Just a thought. Regards. Les
