Jaguar S Type 3.0 2000 - Long term fuel trim - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2000
Engine Size and Code *: 3.0
( Optional ) Scanner Used: autel/ wow
( Optional) Fault Codes: bank 1 lean and bank 2 lean

we have a jaguar s-type 3.0 that we have just fixed a large air leak that had long term fuel trim at +45% and short term +25% at idle.

we fixed the leak and now the long tern will not move despite the short term is now at -25% and we no longer have any fault codes

we do not have the radio code and are reluctant to disconnect the battery as we have read that you can reset the PCM by touching the disconnected battery ground to the connected live terminal on the battery . ( I'm not confident in doing this )

i have also disconected the ECM for 20 mins

so can any one come up with say some thing like a KAM fuse that i could use .

my scan tools do not have the option to clear the fuel trims .

No Answers only questions we need to know.

How far have you driven it since you fixed the air leak ?
What scanner ?

Dont did-commect the battery im sure it wont reset

the trims and i sure it ha no KAM fuse.

kevin i have had it running for about a hour and have driven it 3 miles.

scanner autel and wow and a launch , nothing in there its a old car year 2000 options seem to be limited.

Drive it 40 miles and see what that does.

From memory IDS can re-set the trims but i,m very limited in info as i,m in a hospital bed at teh moment.

if no-one else comes alomg to help, do the drive and if that does not i should be able to find more info by them.

Give me the chassis number and i will try to get the radio code so you can do a hard reset.

I have bypassed the need to input a code by pressing 3 buttons 'pty', 'a.mem' and '>>' together on earlier Jaguar radios

Agree with Kev - drive it. 2 or 3 complete drive cycles.

Have you cleared emissions related data in EOBD?

I let the car go on the day of the post as customer wanted it back, today car returns for MOT and long term and short term fuel trims normal.
