-No criticism intended. I'm personally fascinated by the present media and the often bizarre beliefs it installs in its viewers.
Access to honest reportage and sane opinion is so restricted and when combined with the monetizing tendencies of the platforms results in a total flood of attention seeking mad half baked "influencers"... A modern term I somewhat dispise. I was quite surprised on meeting someone a month or two ago at a meal when he replied somewhat proudly to my questioning why he was photographing the food that he was an "influencer" as though it was some kind of genuine respected profession...
I had thought personally it was some kind of racket where you sold advertisments for various tawdry nicknaks on the strength of your platform ...but I suppose there's a lot of money to be made in that game wracking up the viewers when you have a worlwide feed. I'm probably just a rust old curmugeon who is "out of touch" but after a lifetime of watching fake celebs selling shit it doesn't seem very new to me.
