As noted in other commentary posted here, a lot of the "Ohh it's just this faction that are bad" is a useful get of jail card for them and the West to blame a lunatic fringe when in reality it's the vast majority of the state that agree with them.

Even now it's astonishing how this disgusting regime can do whatever it likes and not get any pushback let alone pay actual consequences. As usual substitute Russia for Israel and just imagine the outrage and endless column inches and air time devoted to their latest "outrage against the civilised world".
