There was an item in the Guardian online (which I've lost) about writers pulling out of the PEN International awards event in the US and withdrawing their books from consideration for a prize because of PEN's inaction over commenting on the genocide in Gaza. So many writers refused to participate that they had no other choice but to call the whole thing off.
