PEN International forced to cancel book awards ceremony

There was an item in the Guardian online (which I've lost) about writers pulling out of the PEN International awards event in the US and withdrawing their books from consideration for a prize because of PEN's inaction over commenting on the genocide in Gaza. So many writers refused to participate that they had no other choice but to call the whole thing off.

...no amount of cajolery, and no attempts at ethical or social seduction, can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred for the Tory Party...So far as I am concerned they are lower than vermin.

She's also on the advisory board of "Foreign Policy for America": a "humanitarian interventionist" ie. regime change slush fund /lobby group:

It's even more astounding that Nossel with her pro-war US intervention in other countries was made CEO of Pen America in the first place. Didn't American writers do some basic checks on the woman to find out who she was? Absolutely pitiable.
