Re: Skwawk: This is brilliant: Video: Braverman gets stony silent treatment from Gaza student protesters
Maybe, but you still presume to live in a democracy which presumably you want to continue. Hiding your face is actually cooperating with the forces you wish to control. Obviously stating your opinion as a real person may come at a personal cost, but all such protests and movements do. So while I understand the reason, I am uneasy at seeing it. I would not hide my face in such a protest. And I am unsure too that remaining silent is a good policy either. Your arguments should be able to stand up to scrutiny wherever you are or whosoever you're talking to. Keep it polite and accurate. You're not going to convince Suella of much I'm sure, but perhaps others may see merit in your arguments. Hmm, an opportunity lost, methinks. If wishes were fishes. Presuming to live in a democracy is a false premise imo. Let me elaborate ... You say: Obviously stating your opinion as a real person may come at a personal cost, but all such protests and movements do. The state (or rather the state narrative) has made the opposition to genocide next to impossible. The cost to individuals that protest, has increased astronomically. This is not Martyn L King type protest, or anything of the sort that could be alluded to. We are in the new paradigm. New rules. I think, my apologies, that you have quite liberal rose tinted glasses on this issues and the cost to individuals is seriously neglected. Just me
