I am still waiting for an apology for being denigrated about touting the use of thorium liquified salt nuke reactors as being an answer to some of our energy problems that will come on line in China in 2025. Not much choice, for lil' I, nevertheless I still wait.
Mind, fast-breeder reactors that Russia is currently using solves the same problem by getting rid of the long term storage of nuclear residuals etc. The fact is, this is somewhat troublesome since this materials *can* be used for the nuke weaponry - is a bit of a downer .. in other words thorium reactors are nicer. I hate being on the same side with Monbiot but am totally disappointed with 'transition energy' solutions having worked recently in this field. It ain't carbon neutral by any stretch of imagination etc. EROI and all that.
