Le Pen has led a movement of "de-demonisation of the National Front" to soften its image,[9] including limited expulsion of members accused of racism, antisemitism or Pétainism. She expelled her father from the party in August 2015, after he made fresh controversial statements.[10][11] While liberalizing some political positions of the party by revoking its opposition to same-sex partnerships, its opposition to unconditional abortions, and its support for the death penalty, Le Pen still advocates many of the same historical policies of her party, with particular focus on strong anti-immigration, nationalist and protectionist measures.[12][13][14] She is supportive of economic nationalism, favoring an interventionist role of government, and is opposed to globalization and multiculturalism. Le Pen supports limiting immigration and banning ritual slaughter.[15] Le Pen has made supportive comments of Vladimir Putin and Russia in the past, advocating closer cooperation before the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine; she strongly condemned the war in Ukraine, but stated Russia "could become an ally of France again" if it ends.[16][17] She has supported Israel during the Israel–Hamas war.[18][19]
I have to say, apart from the support of Israel, there's a lot there that as a left-winger and supporter of retreat from globalisation and the power of multinational corporations I'd agree with - in regard to immigration the difference will be I am not racist about this, but mathematically opposed to the sheer number of people settling in the already grossly over-populated British Isles and the stress this brings to social order and basic important infrastructure such as housing, energy, water, health,, education etc - I am not a racist, but an arithmatist or perhaps better as someone really concerned with overpopulation and the increasingly intractable problems of population on a local, national and international scale - a demographist.
I now wonder if the near hysterical opposition to Le Pen in the media and from our present ruling class comes not so much from the party's history extreme right wing and neo-fascist politics but more from the fact that she and her party will upset the US/NATO/Atlantacist supremacy that presently rules the West, basically the US and it's European and Japanese vassal states.
Anyone here can tell me what fundamentally important things I am missing here? I must be, surely?
