I remember saying that about Le Pen about 2 years ago i.e. that the policies of her party are basically anti-globalist and nearest to the Gaullists type of anti-Atlantists and anti-NATO. I had raised eyebrows from TLN-ers as a result.
The only new item that has surfaced strongly since then i.e. 2 years ago, was the immigration. I still have mixed feelings about it, since I believe it is just a mechanism by the elite to lower the standard of living in the short term (in the UK anyway) and profit from lower wages. In the longer term it is beneficial since the children of immigrants would contribute to the pensions since we don't have 2.1 ratio any more. There is a cultural loss, I guess, but there are also gains.
I would've prefered Jean-Luc Mélenchon, of course, since he is nearer to me politically, especially the anti-zionist part : ) but that was not on the cards 2 odd years ago. Now, France is in the deep do-doo and they still haven't got rid of Macron : /. As to Le Pen's stance on NATO she may have gone the way of Italy's Meloni. Who knows.
