Quite honestly I was on auto pilot and may have conflated the two issues. I guess, this latter issue may sound conspiracional, but unless he raises it as a legal issue it may be a nothingburger. Otoh, with GG's political nous, he probably smelled a rat and said so. I am inclined to believe him.
