I wasn't aware I had blamed "other poor people" for the results of the system.
My reply was to JM's previous post (not that precludes you questioning it).
I always thought the 50s/60s immigration was primarily to fill gaps in the labour market (and as a consequence of the end of empire) so it wouldn't have resulted in the same competition, cutting of wages, scrap-heaping that is going on now.
...no amount of cajolery, and no attempts at ethical or social seduction, can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred for the Tory Party...So far as I am concerned they are lower than vermin.
