One of the main reasons that nothing is happening imo is that they haven't identified the culprit . In essence, again imo, it is the interpretation of the Building Regulations. Some councils have taken it seriously and decided to act. Many didn't. I'd like to think it is something to do with the ole Thatcher selling off the council housing stock in the 80s and thus we have the Gordian knot of who is responsible for the costs for the remedy of this effup. Glaringly corrupt by the government in shrugging off the responsibility. Neat.
