What brand of Christianity has he swallowed? ( no pun intended)
In conventional establishment Christianity I could never quite get the nonsense of the trinity other than as a post hoc shoehorning of what seems to have been a great human being into the boxed status of a mere mythological avatar.
I think I prefer the "great teacher" Jesus...but of course then theres the paucity of his teachings to deal with, of which for some reason the Bible is somewhat parsimonious...and for which I think you would have to go to something early like the Gospel of Thomas for even a half decent supplement.
I reckon any critical reflective "conversion" in the sense of following the teachings of Christ merely leaves you as a heretic: indeed not a Christian...in the eyes of the main establishment churches who all plump for the mythological version over the human.
