Thanks for posting that Subhi, I'm old enough to remember the ghastly end of the Biafran War and the neo-colonisation of Africa after independence and I studied African history 1830 to 1910 at college, which is why I have a soft spot for Ghana.

In the English midlands, the 1970s took place on the television (except for the power cuts during the pit strikes) but I took an interest in the world and was rather puzzled to see Harold Wilson on the telly calling the deal to send 2/3 of the Ugandan Asians to India despite them having British citizenship a success. How naive I was at the callous hypocrisy of the British state.
