Thank you Ken, an excellent article and well worth the posting. Glen Diesen himself is indeed a striking exemplar of what he writes about. To use the concepts espoused in his article your might say he is an island of rhetorical legitimacy in the wide European sea of rhetorical constructivism now submerging the continent. He uses the term "rhetorical trap" into which Europe has fallen, hook line and sinker, (with the US presumably being the fisherman)
