I posit that’s what the poll actually measures.

You could argue its a measure of extreme bias in education, but its a tired old excuse made by people many professors would probably swap jobs with at the drop of a hat. The converse may not be quite so true.

In fact many on the other side most indupitably think professors’ salaries are already too high for the privilege of merely educating their over-privileged children - especially if not in the manner they should be educated (according to dictat).

So yeah, the old plutocracy can’t just quite manage to keep its greedy mouth fully shut.

But yeah, self-selection operates for sure. As everywhere else. Dispiriting.
