If Trump thinks he can do 'deal' with Putin over Ukraine, he will have to realise it will be strictly on Russia's terms.

More likely that Trump admin will realise this and will walk away since any talk between RF and USA would result in unacceptable defeat of USA. They will point to Ukraine to deal with the problem and let the EU pick up any pieces since Ukr shan't be capable of discussing their own surrender. Obviously lots of variations on the theme could emerge in the interim, but I don't think Trump will be able to make that deal.
