Sleboda is one of the adults in the room, as usual. Imo, RT mis-titles this since this is not quite what Sleboda said. The situation is more nuanced and there is a chunk of time left between now and Jan 6 when Russians can accelerate their offensive .. and then discuss .. maybe .. as they progress.

Russia has invested so much in this they won't want to leave the thing unfinished and risk

If Trump thinks he can do 'deal' with Putin over Ukraine, he will have to realise it will be strictly on Russia's terms.

If Trump thinks he can do 'deal' with Putin over Ukraine, he will have to realise it will be strictly on Russia's terms.

More likely that Trump admin will realise this and will walk away since any talk between RF and USA would result in unacceptable defeat of USA. They will point to Ukraine to deal with the problem and let the EU pick up any pieces since Ukr shan't be capable of discussing their own surrender. Obviously lots of variations on the theme could emerge in the interim, but I don't think Trump will be able to make that deal.

Well, that's how the neocons would see it. Russiagate 2 is already being promoted to explain Trump's victory. Can expect RDS (Russia Derangement Syndrome) to take hold again.

Might try to dump Ukraine on the Europeans. I think there is a German election coming up.

Likely to pivot more to Iran and China. Going by his last term, I think he sees China as the main enemy.

But, he doesn't really run things when it comes to foreign policy. The 'deep state' won't surrender hegemony easily.

He's just the bloviating front man. He's unlikely to dare take on the 'swamp' even if he really wants to. They will make that clear.

I don't know whose briefing Trump on Ukraine, but his proposals last I heard didn't actually consider any of the reasons the war happened in the first place...ergo, they are unlikely to be even considered by Moscow.

Can't recall who said it but the casus beli was all about whether Russia's say in Ukraine joining NATO or not would be decided by means of negotiation or war: unfortunately the west and Ukraine chose war.
-It's not a decision that can be backtracked down the tracks with well over a million dead or severely injured.

After spending $5 billion to destabilise Ukraine and organise a bloody coup, even more to train the biggest army in western Europe (did anyone ask why one of the poorest nations in europe needed the biggest army?) incorporating of course its NAZI coup militants...in NATO tactics, after loading the place with multiple billions in tanks, armoured cars, planes, artillery, missiles, shells...
but still to be losing...

-Trumps best shot to keep his "legacy" clean would be to walk away from the mess and hand it over to Europe and the Brits who can carry on with the failure or not as they wish or indeed can afford, but who will take the blame non the less for its unravelling.
-If he has any real business nous, that's what he will do.
