...rumour has it Asma was one of the driving forces behind making privileged (i.e. corrupt?) Alawite multi-millionaires pay their share of taxes...thus according to the journalist this made her the evil instigator of "...the regime's darkest crackdown"??

It's really convinced me of two things: that this "journalist" is an idiot whilst the subject she is feebly attempting to demonise: Asma by contrast appears to be a decent human being.
