I don't think it is their gutter, though. It might not be particularly constructive or lead to positive outcomes if acted upon, but the basis of it is compassion for the victims and an urge for protective violence. Their gutter is justification for, and rationalisations of offensive violence, maintaining a dominant position through theft, murder, ethnic cleansing, genocide... It's weirdly alienated because we don't know the people involved and only have our buttons pushed because of seeing images and text on screens, but under it is an urge for justice & restitution which is completely absent from the mindset of the coloniser.

That's how I see/feel it anyway.
