Politics is not a religion, you don’t have to believe in it ..
Therefore, can we please try to successfully hold two ideas in our minds at the same time?
(1) We can/must try
(2) It is unlikely to succeed, could be (highly?) flawed
It is attachment to belief that is the problem, perhaps. Going through the motions of trying and failing doesn’t have to result in a loss of faith, since faith itself is maybe the problem here.
The points Keith makes, as a counterpoint to belief in the system, are worthy of far more respect than they are given. I am sometimes shocked at the vitriol that they receive.
