Yes, clever people have been around for a long time, it turns out. I can usually trace my 'original' ideas to books I read 20 years ago, and sometimes discover that I already had that epiphany (based on someone else's idea), and even wrote about it at the time, before obviously forgetting it and coming back to it years later. Nothing new under the sun etc. One of these days I'll sit down and read Marx properly and be like: FFS, that's what I've been struggling to articulate all this time!
