Thais are very easy going a lot of the time, although it's changed in recent decades as they've got more nationalistic (various political campaigns have got them blaming foreigners for all the problems; sound familiar?). It was true before, but more so now, if you kick off with a Thai they will get mob handed on you and absolutely bin you. The "farang armour" doesn't work any more and if you're doing something like this...he's lucky to be breathing. Shame that he is.
