...I started growing them a couple of years back and they are gorgeous and make me smile everytime I look at them, they really cheer me up!
They need protected from slugs when sprouting, until the stems toughen up...I use empty plastic pop bottles cut in three parts, very effective.
They need plenty of water though, they are thirsty big buggers!

The just step back and bask in the compliments from your neighbours!
