1986 was the year I graduated. Three years later I started nurse training as it took me that long to realise that being an arts grad impressed no-one. I only got interviews to provide an alibi for the phonies and cronies getting preferential treatment. Not that I'm bitter, mind. My beer swilling declined quite a bit by 1990 but that was because the nurse tutor liked red wine and I found that it went well with a spliff.
