It was on BBC a couple of weeks ago. The interviewee was in full flow, going into far too much detail (re Middle East I think) and the presenter pulled the "I'm sorry, we've run out of time" ploy. I thought there must be a breaking news story or an urgent update, and we cut to ..... a trailer for BBC News, the one where Clive Imrie and dedicated team are working through the night 24/7 to feed us "verified" information, whatever that is.

So they cut off a live interview on an important topic to bring us a commercial telling us how hard working and trustworthy they are. Do you think BBC editors know how to even spell "irony"?
