Is it my paranoia kicking in again?

It seems to happen frequently on the MSM news channels that when an interviewee down the line starts straying from the accepted script or viewpoint that "technical" problems suddenly develop. It happened yesterday on the BBC and I've noticed it more than once on Channel 4 and Sky News. The interview seems to be proceeding quite normally until the guest broadens the narrow range of questioning and provides more information or a different perspective than one we're accustomed to. These comments are usually (but not always) in connection with the Middle East and Ukraine. Recent examples are of an interview speaking of power failures in Kiev and the constant blare of air raid sirens which means they have to rush down to the shelters. Sure enough, as soon as he started describing these events the picture froze and the sound died. The presenter apologised and said they would try to get the signal back but they never did.

Does this happen time and time again? I think it does. Or is my paranoia at work again?

Another favourite one when things go off script is: "I'm afraid we'll have to leave it there, we've run out of time".

"I won't dignify the attacker's words by repeating them, they are horrific and vile."

Clive James mentioned that in the 70s. I wouldn't be surprised at technical problems coming from the pressing of a big red button.

It was on BBC a couple of weeks ago. The interviewee was in full flow, going into far too much detail (re Middle East I think) and the presenter pulled the "I'm sorry, we've run out of time" ploy. I thought there must be a breaking news story or an urgent update, and we cut to ..... a trailer for BBC News, the one where Clive Imrie and dedicated team are working through the night 24/7 to feed us "verified" information, whatever that is.

So they cut off a live interview on an important topic to bring us a commercial telling us how hard working and trustworthy they are. Do you think BBC editors know how to even spell "irony"?

Reminds me of the classic Galloways interview on Sky News...

...way back in 2006, I think, about Israel's aggression in Lebanon...yeah, some things never change.
The stoopid anchor on that occasion had far too much ego and thought she was going to get the better of George at some point, with her inane gotcha questions.
Instead she ended up looking a completely bigoted, Israeli hasbara bollox tool by the time the interview finished.
I bet she looks back on that and wishes she had did the old "run out of time" cowardly exit, way before she ended up "getting a bluidy good hiding"!
