I prefer to leave people with an 'out', to find a path back to their humanity. The genocide has shifted Jewish opinions about isr**l and zionism in the unfavourable direction, especially among the young, if I remember polling rightly. Not as much as any sane person would hope for, and it should have happened far sooner, but you're fighting generations of deep indoctrination so it was never going to happen overnight. The history of significant Jewish opposition to zionism also contradicts the idea that Judaism inevitably ends up in the racist slaughter of others seen as subhuman. It's important to point out IMO in a similar way to how the marches against the '03 Iraq invasion/occupation showed people in Iraq and across the middle east that we weren't all on board with what 'our' governments were doing. Not enough was done because the crimes still went ahead, and maybe that proves western publics were racist scum who were happy to benefit from the oil thefts with at best a token protest. But it provided the possibility of redemption - an 'out' - and some of us continued from that point to oppose the entirety of the imperialist culture in all its manifestations.

Accept that argument and you can forget universal religion full stop because you're back to Teutates and tribalism.' - well, actually I'm in favour of tribalism and place-based religions, so don't hold that against Judaism any more than I would against the ancient Gauls. Arguably the universalising tendency of Christianity has made it more serviceable to empires old and new because the missionising it fosters can be used to dismantle indigenous cultures & traditions which paves the way to full incorporation into the expansionist imperial society. I don't care if the people in the next valley think they're the chosen ones and I'm a godless d!ckhead as long as they leave me the f* alone!
