Yep. He's vilified by the faux left for not going full on 'People's Vote', but as has been explained Archived Message

to me, if he did that he may increase the Labour share in seats in London and other Remain areas, but would very likely lose seats in Labour-held Leave areas. Plus, if we think the mainstream have up to now been hugely biased against him, if he proposed another ref he'd be roasted alive: 'flip-flopping', 'anti-democratic' etc What he is doing is representing roots-up Labour party policy decided at conference: seek a general election; seek a Brexit deal that satisfies Labour's red lines; if not achievable then Yes seek other options including another ref. I'm mostly good with all that myself, but what has been so shite, which makes me really doubt my faith in him, is that he has failed to be proactive in standing up for the Labour position: of course he will always be misinterpreted and smeared on everything, so he needs a solidly clear explanation on EU/Brexit expressed and repeatedly drummed out. Though his failure to do that could yet prove a winning handling of his poker hand, letting the Tories implode, divisions among (potential) Labour supporters are surely far worse due to the lack of a strong clear message.
