I've seen various other back-and-forths, mostly absorbed into the debate about meat-eating vs veganism (Monbiot, never one to do things by halves, came out as a vegan in 2016, and has gone on to argue for the total elimination of livestock farming: https://www.monbiot.com/2017/10/06/the-meat-of-the-matter/ ). IMO there's probably some truth to the ability of grazing animals, wild or domesticated (if managed properly) being able to sequester carbon in the soil but it seems doubtful whether this could achieve the effects Savory says it could. As with the reforestation we discussed in the thread below: http://members5.boardhost.com/xxxxx/thread/1548939715.html it could be a distraction from the more urgent need to end fossil fuel consumption.
