I thought the article leveraged Americans' earnestly professed non-racism to make points about hypocrisy, wilful ignorance, global optics and the power of propaganda. I linked to the article because I occasionally pop into Ryan's website: he's a good writer. Ryan is neither a career journalist nor an ideologue. He's a man of science, a chemical engineer with expertise in steel manufacture and a nose for data. As a whistle-blower, he was fired for pointing out inconvenient facts to the US government agency, NIST, which produced the reports that have served to justify illegal, perpetual wars. When salaried journalists retreated from reporting on the Wars of Terror (aside from regurgitating official releases), it took a non-paid scientist to fill a glaring inquisitorial gap and set to writing some of the best journalism on the NIST scam.
