The Guardian, like so much liberal/left opinion, obsessed with gender, identity and victimhood and the values linked to 'virtue.' For them, the anti-semitism narrative roles it all up together beautifully. A massive problem can't be ignored though. What if great swathes of the public don't give a damn about Israel and don't love it? What if they're 'anti-semetic' if one accepts the ever broadening and all-encompasing definition of 'anti-semitism', which seems to mean that anyone who doesn't like Zionism or the character of the Israeli state, is guilty? A problem with political taboos, is that they can become a very powerful weapon if one has the ability to confront them and turn them to one's advantage, creating a really strong political profile for oneself in the process. This is dangerous as history shows. The Guardian is in a kind of panic, because it's obvious that way too many people are no longer willing to be led in the right direction and follow orders anymore. They are no longer prepared to be told how and what to think. The old dogmas are being questioned and rejected by too many people for comfort. This isn't just a political problem, but a cultural one too. It has profound implications and not all of them are positive. That the 'left' haven't the wit to capitalise on this trend is a tragedy, compared to the rise of the 'social nationalists' wating in the wings. Jordan Peterson is rather good a demolishing the pretentions of the liberal/left and their dogmas about gender, victimhood and identity, but let's face it, it's way too easy as the modern 'left' is mostly ridiculous and seemingly determined to make itself irrelevant and isolated from the general public.
