I know it's probably a depressing and unpleasant thought, but perhaps the political left, at least the one represented in parliament where it's supposed to matter; is rotting and dead both ideologically and politically. Corbyn, as I've always thought, and the people around him, simply aren't up to the task they face. Forty years of Thatherism have taken there toll and the left has been effectively decapitated and is now very, very, weak indeed. The quality of the left is extremely poor and the time and structure of public life in the UK don't make it any easier for them. If only Corbyn had more of the Trump in him, the willingness to take on, or fake it, the entire establishment and their media church, is an essential component. One has to be ready to demolish their entire propagana apparatus and turn their greatest apparent strength into the primary target one want to destroy. Attack them where they are strongest, their ability to frame the debate. Undermine their legitimacy all the time. Only Corbyn doesn't feel comfortable doing this, proably because he's spent too long sitting cosy on the backbenches.
