All that being said, one still has to wonder at Corbyn's 'strategy' which seems on the face of it, rather 'mysterious.' One would think that he'd understand the importance of galvanising and inspiring his own base of support, rather than demoralising them and confusing them, no? The problem with him, as always, is that even that's a step too far for him, too risky by half. What is 'authority' exactly? He's got his formal authority as leader of the party, but if he's to make a success he needs more than that, surely? It's the rest of it he lacks. The authority that comes from being a person with real leadership qualities. He's not articulate and he can't present his vision or ideas in a powerful and authetic fashion. Also he seems afraid to be honest with the party and the public, by telling people what's going on. That this entire 'anti-semitism' story is a politically motivated fabrication, a story that's been massively exaggerated by the Blairite wing of the party and he could choose to take on the 'Israeli's' too, while he's at it, by linking them to the conflict in the Middle East. He could hammer away about conspiracy facts and take the battle right into the heart of the enemy narrative, and say it like he ####ing means it! Demand that they 'apologise' for supporting Israel, a foreign power whilst its snippers kill and mame Palestinian children on the Gaza border. Put those ####ers on the spot for a change, force them to justify their support for Israel and its' monsterous regime. Only Corbyn won't and can't do this, because, unfortunately he hasn't got what it takes as a leader. What's even worse is that the left doesn't have anyone better to fill his shoes, post Corbyn. But maybe the public will come to his aid at the next election and vote Labour anyway, because they dislike the Tories even more, and this is why the Blairites don't want to run that risk.
