Aye, the real prize isn't respect of the ethical public, his own principles upheld, fairness or righteousness, it's *power*. Completely agree, which is why I'm so unimpressed with him. Doing bad things by inaction vs doing bad things by direct action amount to the same outcomes. If he thinks he's being extra clever he's still the wrong type of leader. If he can't stand up to his own party members I can't see how he would stand up to them, the us, big business, etc as leader. I'm not sure why you think such personality traits could suddenly flip. I remember speaking to pro Obama folk who kept insisting we'd see the change in his final term because before that he was bound by the bureaucracy. Of course we didn't, aside from token offerings, which appeased some of the truest believers, but did little for the average foreign or local joes, hence the massive turn in support of a known massive bastard. The take home message there seemed to be I'd rather have a bastard I can believe. Seems it's the uks turn now for the same carousel antics. If you ask me who would you rather be in power- may or corbyn? I'd probably answer the latter. Not because I believe in one more than the other, simply because a change means there's no #### ups for s few months while they get their affairs in order. And it would be a sorry question besides; a stark reminder of the farce of our free society and democratic politics.
